Keep the print surface clean.
Avoid touching the print surface with bare fingers. If you leave fingerprints, clean the plate according to its manufacturer's instructions. A dry paper towel alone does not remove skin oils.
Chrometry / Silk PLA+
Practical notes for loading filament, handling articulated prints, and caring for your build plate.
Avoid touching the print surface with bare fingers. If you leave fingerprints, clean the plate according to its manufacturer's instructions. A dry paper towel alone does not remove skin oils.
Install the spool so the filament unwinds smoothly toward the printer's filament inlet. When loading, check that the spool turns normally and the filament actually enters the feeder. On some setups, the wrong spool orientation can let filament unwind outside the printer instead of feeding in.
Wait until the build plate and print have cooled. If your printer has a removable flexible plate, take it off and bend it gently to release the print.
If supports are difficult to remove, use small pliers carefully after the print has cooled.
After printing with Chrometry Silk PLA+, wait until the print has fully cooled before flexing its joints. Moving the joints while the print is still warm can cause them to break.
